🕌 Masjid Project Update

Assalumu alaykum brothers and sisters

Firstly, we thank Allah Subhanahu wa-taʿālā for His favours upon us and His infinite blessings and we send salutations upon our beloved Prophet Sallallahu ʿalayhī wa-sallam

As you are all aware, the community has been working hard over the past 3 years actively fundraising and working towards establishing a masjid. Alhamdulillah our phase 1 project was completed last year where we managed to secure a site with planning permission. Since then we have been actively fundraising for phase 2 to fund the construction of the masjid.

By the grace of Allah, recently we were offered an excellent opportunity to acquire an alternative site which could not be turned down. The site was ready made and was in an excellent location with greater scope for conversion into a masjid. The site would provide a substantial saving on the total cost of the project while providing more internal space.

Alhamdulillah we are pleased to announce that the new site has now been purchased through the sale of our existing site and we will be commencing refurbishment work as soon as possible.

The new project will allow us to achieve our goal of establishing a masjid in a shorter time frame and at a significant cost saving.

The project has progressed significantly with this purchase and we require the community to come forward and help us complete the final stages of this project.

Finally we request your continued duas for the successful completion of this project and we encourage everyone to participate in the establishing of the masjid through their continued time, suggestions and support.

Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of the Alesbury Islamic Centre. The Alesbury Islamic Centre will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of the Alesbury Islamic Centre.

No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.

The Alesbury Islamic Centre will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.

The Alesbury Islamic Centre will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of the Alesbury Islamic Centre.

Certain other gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for Alesbury Islamic Centre.

The Alesbury Islamic Centre will provide acknowledgments to donors meeting tax requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by Alesbury Islamic Centre.

The Alesbury Islamic Centre will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, the Alesbury Islamic Centre will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.

The Alesbury Islamic Centre will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to the Alesbury Islamic Centre.
